  • Metamatic is a fine album, but it's actually heavily influenced by Gary Numan's seminal albums 'replicas' (as tubeway army) and 'The Pleasure Principle' - the latter album released in August 1979 particulary influenced the 80's scene; electro, dance and hip-hop (black artists recognised Numan's early work as cool during his lengthy period of critical exile in the UK). Actually, while I'm at it - probably the most influential electronic album actually releaed in the 80's is New Order's 'Power, Corruption, Lies' ...
