Damn, these guys are good! Their music has a happy, bouncy & edgy, hook-filled feel that flows with the roughed-up smoothness of water over rocks. Sometimes they have a punk-tinged Motorik pop chug; sometimes the songs are fluid and airy with sparkling tremolo guitar notes. Almost every member of the Melbourne, Australia group sings, writes songs and plays guitar. Recalls bands like The Strokes, The Feelies, Blank Realm, The Clean, Scott & Charlene’s Wedding, Luna, Dick Diver, The Go-Betweens, Parquet Courts. “Talk Tight” was originally released in 2015 and is getting a new label push after the success of “The French Press” EP (brilliant, released early 2017). It’s a lean ‘n’ mean, melody-driven indie pop/rock machine with a wiry & addictive, supple song flow. 7 songs, no filler. Recommended
