From Tm Warren's liners notes (verbatim):
"Welcome to the crude, simple, angry world of mid-60s garage PUNK ROCK! This series has been on vinyl since 1983 but the fuckin' CD-age has forced us to finally issue 'em for DIGITAL folk. Weird, cos' this sort o' primal crudely recorded, 2-chord, 'bang-it-out-and-who-gives-a-fuck-if-we're-in-tune' crud-rock is the ANTITHESIS of anal-retentive, "technological" dorkery such as CD's. Anyway, here's the first installment of "GRAVE ON CD"and to those of you unfamiliar with what 60's punk is all about, here's a brief summary: 60's punk has nuthin' to do with the goddamn San Francisco-flowers-Love-Peace-LSD-Psychedelic MORONITY of '67-'69! Fuck yer hippie Sargeant Pepper/Jefferson Airplane "60's memories". This is PUNK ROCK: - Rock n' Roll from the fuckin' suburbs & rural areas made by the "LOSERS" and MISFITS that the jocks, preps and "winners" hated in high school. These bands were formed by 12 to 17-year-olds; most of 'em issued one 45 in their 1 to 3-year life-span, on their own fuckin' labels in editions of 75 to 500 copies and never saw any media/radio coverage - which is great cos' MAJOR-LABELS couldn't exploit and destroy it!! And DIG: if any scratches or pops or "sound blemishes" bug her high-tech ears, fuckin' go ahead and try to find MINT copies o' the 45's included herein & yer gonna drop way over $4,000 so shut the fuck up!

P.S.: The word 'GRUNGE' is used often in these liners cos' that's what perfectly describe this crude stuff - we DID NOT co-opt it from the Led Zep/Cock Rock stupidity that reared it's ugly HIPPY-HAIRED HEAD thanks to Sub Pop/Seattle/Pearl Jam/etc!"
